Southern Blondie: September 2012

A Day in the Life of My Life

It's Tuesday. And Tuesday is almost as busy as Monday. To show how my Monday is busy, I decided to timeline my Monday to see all the coming, going, and running around I did. Now, I know my day isn't as busy as others, but between school and work, my day is just long. Really long.

5:00 a.m. - The alarm goes off. Snooze.
5:10 a.m. - The second alarm goes off. Get up. Get dressed. Brush my teeth. Find tennis shoes.
5:20 a.m. - Grab water out of the fridge, look for keys, go to the gym.
5:27 a.m. - Gym. Work out. Sweat. Think why didn't I just sleep in?
6:15 a.m. - Done with the trainer's workout and decide to do cardio for one mile. Cardio, Cardio, Cardio!
6:30 a.m. - Leave gym. Head home.
6:40 a.m. - Home. Drink chocolate milk. Think about what I need to do... Shower. Hair. Makeup. Dressed. Instead, decide to shower then take a 10 min nap. The nap turns into 20 min.
7:15 a.m. - Then do hair. makeup. get dressed.
7:50 a.m. - Realize that I need to get going. Pack breakfast/lunch/snack. Piddle. Google over Josh from Good Morning America.
8:10 a.m. - Grab bags. Out the door. Can't find umbrella. It's raining. Whoops.

8:10ish a.m. - Get to work. Go through emails. Work. Meetings.
10:30ish a.m. - Eat snack.
11:45 a.m. - Group email to friends at work about what's for lunch. Since it's Monday and I have class that night I usually eat at my desk (and turn in my homework)

12:30 p.m. - Finish eating. Turned in homework. Look at the list of things to do in the afternoon. Afternoon is full of meetings.

4:45 p.m. - Leave work and head to class. Traffic. Rain.
5:10 p.m. - Arrive at class. Eat yogurt. Get out laptop. Finish working on whatever I was working on at work.

6:00 p.m. - Professor arrives with his bundle of stuff. We listen. And yawn. Take notes. Count the clock.
7:10 p.m. - Class break! Stand up. Get water. Yawn.
8:20 p.m. - Leave class. Head home. Yawn. (We actually get out of class early. Usually it's not until         almost 9)
9:40 p.m. - Get home. Drop all the stuff I'm carrying on to the table. Head for the fridge. Open the door. Look inside. Sigh. Pull out grilled chicken & sweet potato. Microwave. Change clothes. Eat. Go lay in bed. Write this post. Read a magazine. Try to stay awake to watch According to Jim.
10:45 p.m. Eyes start closing ... can't keep open ... goodnight.

That's my Monday in total. It's a good day. I got a lot accomplished, learned a little something in class, and ate healthy all day.

How was your Monday? How's your Tuesday?

Weekend Recap: Sleeping, Shopping & Studying

After being sick for two straight weeks, I knew this weekend I was going to do one thing. Take it easy. The most I had on my plate was to study, do a little laundry, take a nap and just hang out. And that's exactly what I did. Friday afternoon when I left work it came a torrential downpour to which I decided that staying inside all night would be exactly what I needed to do. So I did. Though friends were going out on the town, I skipped. I was asleep by 10:30 p.m. on  Friday night and I was more than happy to be.

I slept in until 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning. I guess I really was tired. I opened the fridge to see what was available (I'm determined to eat the food that I have in my kitchen so I'll stop wasting money buying food then decided to eat out.) I had all of the fixins' to make an omelette.

One problem, I've never made an omelette.

I'm not that great at cooking eggs to be honest.

Or taking pictures with my iPhone.

Once the hysteria of the new iPhone dies down, I'm also going to get it.

Though it's not that pretty, it's my first attempt at making an omelette.

It wasn't pretty, but it was delicious. And extremely filling.

Saturday afternoon I went to do a little shopping. I saw this dress online at Loft and thought that it would look nice in my closet.

It was also 40% off.

Saturday afternoon consisted of:
- Watching my friend Allison plant plants
- Shopping
- Watching part of the Arkansas/Alabama game
- Napping around
-Doing a little cleaning

And helping Allison pick out shoes for an event she has to attend.

I'm teaching her little girl fun heels to wear one day.

Saturday night was full of friends, shuffleboard, and going home at a decent hour.

Sunday after all was full of this ...

Sitting outside listening to it rain,

And reading for school.

Fun, huh?

I did do a little cooking for the week.

Since I have class during the week, it's nice to already have meals put together.

And a little steamed broccoli for when I get home from class.

Happy Monday!

Where Oh Where Have the Blog Posts Gone?

I'm sorry. I've been a terrible blogger, but I have good reasons!

School has started. My iPhone is a 3GS. I've been sick.

How does any of that matter to be being a bad blogger?

Well, over the weekend, I celebrated two friends birthdays. Watched the hogs game. And went to a wedding. From all of that I only have one picture that I stole from a friend of our high school group.

You see, if I would finally upgrade my phone, or if they would come out with an iPhone 5, then I could have a flash and take lots of pictures all the time to blog about.

This makes me a bad blogger.

I got home Monday late afternoon from a fun weekend when, BAM. I did not feel well. Allergies, dehydration, exhaustion are all things that usually combine to make me not feel well. I woke up Tuesday morning unable to even move. Slept all day, slept all night. Went to work on Wednesday, went home after a meeting and slept all night. By Thursday, I had had it. I couldn't take it. I went to the doctor to which I had a sinus infection, sore throat and cough. Lovely.

After a shot, antibiotics, and cough medicine, I hope to be back to life and blogging.

Forgive me for being a terrible blogger.
