The Best (Magical) Makeup Primer

When it comes to makeup, we all need a little ... magic some days. I've had the same routine for the past, I don't know, 10 years it seems. Moisturizer, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow and mascara. Pretty simple.

The only thing is that living in Arkansas there is humidity. I also tend to rub my face a lot during the day. Keeping the makeup I started with during the beginning of the day would rarely make it to the end of the day without adding more powder or blush. Also, on the weekends, I don't like wearing foundation when running errands but powder doesn't seem to cover.

But guess what? I've found the best product to keep my morning makeup on ALL day.

ALL DAY.
It's L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. Long name, but amazing results.

In the mornings I like to put it on just to watch my face transform.

Here's what L'Oreal says about their cream:

About L'Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream: This product gives the sheer coverage needed to create a natural bare skin finish, while delivering built-in skincare benefits. With four beautifying actions, this all-in-one innovation primes and smoothes, perfects to hide flaws, hydrates all-day, and corrects and evens skin. The product is infused with skincare ingredients like Panthenol, Vitamin E and Glycerin for 24-hour moisturization.

It retails for about $7-11 at drug stores.

If you're looking for a great makeup primer, try it.

I received a complimentary product from SheSpeaks/L’Oréal to facilitate this review.
My opinions are honest and true, over and out.

Everyone Has a Story

They say it's not what happens to you in life, but it's how you react to it. I'm not sure who 'they' are, or if I just made that up, but it's true. I was lucky enough this past week to spend a couple of days in NYC for social media week to learn more about how I can utilize social media technology and tools for the organization that I work for...

Friday night I left NYC, headed to Charlotte then headed back to Arkansas. It's always sad to leave NYC, but it's always nice to be home as well. As we landed in Charlotte we realized that our flight had been delayed. Slight relief to me because that meant I could eat dinner... this girl likes to eat dinner.

After I ate I found out that the flight had been delayed again. Again, no problem. A couple of phones calls to catch up, a little reading, even some work and I feel much more productive. Then we had another delay ... until 11:29 p.m. Anytime your flight is delayed that late you might as well call a taxi and get a ride because you're not leaving that airport going anywhere.

I asked if I had to pray when I got there...

I hate it when I'm right. Our flight was canceled, we all had to get rescheduled, and put up in a hotel. During the waiting, the standing, the hanging around for answers, I realized that everyone has a story. I made new friends at the airport, standing in line getting a new ticket, and even waiting on the hotel shuttle to come pick us up. Maybe sometimes we're suppose to wait for things in life. After all, who doesn't like new friends?

Plus, if a canceled flight is the worst thing that happens to me, then I think I'll be just fine.

Time to fly!

Small Town Saturday Night

What do friends do on a Saturday night in a small town in Arkansas? Well we have a crawfish boil, ya'll. I know it's lame, but between work and school lately I haven't had a lot of time to go home to visit my parents or friends. Luckily, they understand and don't hold it against me.

Saturday morning I got up (mid-morning, let's be honest) and headed to my hometown. After a day of getting my hair done, running errands and working on homework I needed a break and to see some old friends. Crawfish season is in so it was time for a boil..

Here are some of the little fellas that we went through.

This was actually after we all got some.

Fancy plates, huh?

Whoops. My Nike jacket is a little out of character for this party.

But there was a tractor involved.

Happy Weekend.

Atlanta, Birthday Cake and Oysters

Between working and school I'm really trying hard to also have a life. The last two semesters I've put life last and now I'm trying to incorporate it back in. Not very successfully, but here's to trying. In order to do that, I took a couple of days off last week and went to Atlanta to see some friends.

Lauren and I seem to know how to take a picture, however, Melissa doesn't seem to understand that ou have to look at the camera.

This feels typical. This also portrays our friendship well.

Hi ya pretty ladies!

These next two pictures are possibly two of my favorite pictures ever.

Each person is having a different moment in the picture.

And no one can seem to make a normal face.

Friday night we went out for Courtney's 43rd birthday. (She's not really 43 but she doesn't know that.)

Sparkles and love.

Where them girls at?

To celebrate a birthday properly one must celebrate with cake.

And she did!

As did Dave...

I really think when Melissa and I take a picture together it's the best picture for the both of us!

There's the love!

Saturday we went to Oysterfest where my phone was hijacked for a picture.

But then we took our own picture.

I'm on a mission to go buy sunglasses this week.

One pair broke, one pair lost, and another pair may or may not be left in Africa somewhere.
