Planning a Trip to Paris

Planning a Trip to Paris

If you've read the title of this post then you already know... I'm planning a trip to Paris in August!

Photo from TripAdvisor.com where I was clearly researching all things to do in Paris.

I am SO excited that when I booked the tickets I actually cried.

Is that cute, or pathetic? I don't care because I AM SO EXCITED.

Since clearly, this is my first time to Paris considering the emotion of crying from booking plane tickets, I want to know...what tips/advice/things should we do in Paris? We also plan on going to Nice to looking for advice there as well!

Help a girl feel prepared!

  2. I love Paris!!!! One of my all time favorite cities. The Latin district is great for restaurants. Definitely look in to the Paris Pass if you want to see a bunch of sights, skip lines at museums, get discounts, etc. My friends and I got it and it was definitely an investment but so worth it. The biggest advice that I have is to simply enjoy Paris! It's so popular for a reason. Take in every moment that you're there, and don't worry about anything else. One of my favorite memories is sitting under the Eiffel Tower as it sparkled, drinking cheap wine and eating cheese and bread. Just being there in that moment felt so great.

  7. I love Paris! It's been a few years since I've been but it is so charming. I loved the Museum le Orangerie - not sure if I spelled it correctly, but some of the original Monet painting are in there any they're so magical!

  11. I loved visiting Paris - it was so much fun! Honestly, my biggest tip/thing to do would be just walk around and see everything! Stop into shops that look interesting (they are everywhere), pop in to cafes, etc. There is literally so much to see!

  12. Omg girl Paris is GORGEOUS! I went for a week last summer and I had a great time! There are definitely some things you need to know before you get there, though! The metro is definitely the best way to get around BUT make sure you keep a firm hand on all your belongings at all times. One of the people I was traveling with got pick pocketed on our first day. The pick pocketers are definitely experts there. Also, get a museum pass. The museums have a hefty admission cost, but the museum pass balances it out in the long run. The museums I went to were: Picasso, Musee de l’Orangerie (home of Monet's Water Lilies), The Louvre, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Other places you must see are: Sacre Coeur, Arc De Triomphe, Saint Chapelle, and Notre Dame. Also make sure you see Versailles, but it IS a day trip. A tip for that is to get your return ticket as soon as you get there when it isn't busy so you don't have to wait in a super long line at the end of the day. Also a super fun place to go eat is Refuges des Fondues in Northern Paris - It's relatively cheap fondue PLUS you are served wine in baby bottles! I think I pretty much covered everything, but if not, here's a post on my blog: http://fivefootandfabulous.com/wanderlust-wednesday-vol-5-paris-trip/

    Have so much fun!

  15. I'm so excited for you! I went to Paris almost ten years ago, and it was amazing. No original suggestions here, but I do recommend visiting The Louvre. Seeing the Mona Lisa was unreal.
