Tips on Using Sam's Club Flowers for Your Wedding

For our wedding, I knew that we could save a little money by ordering greenery and flowers from Sam's Club. For instance, the flowers you see on our cake are from Sam's Club, just their white roses that were opened, and placed around the cake. This would have been much more expensive had I asked the florist or the bakery to decorate.

It's really a great way to save some money during what can be a very expensive day.

Here you will see how we decorated each table.

The white table runners I ordered from Etsy (link here), the greenery from and white roses from Sam's Club.

The vases were from Dollar Tree, and the round candles (link here) inside the vases were from Amazon.

Here's a better look at the top of each table setting.

Here is a closeup of each table, we just stuck flowers in the greenery throughout the table runners and they held up really well throughout the night.

Cost of Sam's Flowers for a Wedding

So we paid around $550 for all of our table decorations, plus extra flowers for the cake, and around the bar area of the wedding.

I would absolutely do it again because of the ease and how much money it saved. We did spend money on centerpieces around the cake, but those flowers had also been used for the rehearsal dinner so they got extra bang for the buck.

I do believe the flowers are more expensive right now, but I still think it was worth it.

5 Tips for Ordering Flowers from Sam's Club:

1. Prepare To Water

Make sure you have 5-gallon buckets with water ready when your flowers arrive. You will want to take them out of the boxes and put them in water so they can open a bit.

2. Receive the flowers 2-days in advnace

If your event is on Saturday, order your flowers two days in advance which gives them time to open.

3. Buy a Spray Bottle

If you order garland, make sure to have a water spray handy so you can keep the garland looking fresh and not dried out.  I got a spray bottle at the Dollar Tree, so you don't have to spend a lot.

4. Use Garden Shears

Use garden shears to cut stems and garland, do not try to use regular scissors, that will be too time-consuming.

5. Order Ahead

Place your order as soon as you are ready. This is not an order that you can place last-minute.

Hope this helps if you are planning a wedding soon and want to save some extra money where you can!

How to Plan a Wedding in Little Rock, AR

On May 1, 2021, I got married in Little Rock, Arkansas.

It was probably one of the most fun days of my entire life and I wanted to share all of our details in case anyone else is looking to get married in Little Rock.

Little Rock Wedding Church Venue

We got married at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock, AR. The church does an amazing job with weddings,  I believe this has to be one of the most gorgeous churches in Little Rock.

We decided to do first-look photos before the ceremony. We were both nervous about the whole thing (not each other, just getting it right with the ceremony) so we thought seeing each other first would help with those nerves.

When it came to hair and makeup, I went with Jamie Lynn Jones. She's absolutely the best!

My dress was from Nordstrom by the brand Tadashi Shoji. I found it online and didn't feel the need to keep looking.

Little Rock Wedding Reception Venue

The best place I found for a wonderful wedding reception site in Little Rock was Heifer International. Luckily we had perfect weather for the event, but had we not, there is heat and the doors can be open or closed depending on conditions,

Wedding Ideas for Guests to Sign

For our wedding, I didn't want to do a book for everyone to sign, instead, I had cards and envelopes for everyone to either leave their best wishes, or tips for a good marriage. They have been fun to open here and there throughout our last year of marriage.

Little Rock Wedding Cake

Our wedding cake was created by Blue Cake Company in Little Rock, AR. We did a mix of red velvet and vanilla cake. It was DELICIOUS and I crave the red velvet cake all the time.

The cake topper was created by Jon Hatton on Etsy. He was able to use the same typography that we had used throughout our wedding.

The flowers were from Sam's Club. (I used a lot of flowers from Sam's club for the wedding.)

Little Rock Wedding Catering

For our catered food, we used Contigo at Heifer, which is also part of the Sauced Bar and Oven restaurant family. They did a fantastic job. Each table received its own cheese board, salad and then they delivered pizzas around during the reception.

Little Rock Wedding Band

For our live band, we used Rip Van Shizzle. They were SO MUCH FUN! I love a live band at a wedding. If anyone is interested in their contact information, let me know and I'll send it along.

Our wonderful Little Rock wedding photographer was Makenzie Evans. I wouldn't have hired anyone else.

It was still one of the most fun, exciting, happy, lovely days that I've been able to experience in my life.

Thank you for reading!

Wedding Photography || Little Rock, AR || Wes & Brandi

It had been a few years (more like 12) since I have done any wedding photography, but when my friend Wes told me he was marrying my friend Brandi and they asked me to take a couple of photos I didn't even hesitate.

Wes has been my neighbor for a few years, and Brandi I knew from mutual friends from college so when they got engaged a year ago, I was hoping I would get an invite to the wedding.

And I ended up getting the best seat in the house!

It had rained in Arkansas for a week straight and Brandi and Wes were getting married on a Monday afternoon. That Monday morning the sun was shining brightly and it was time for their big day!

They got married at Knoop Park in Hillcrest. It has a great view of Litte Rock's skyline!

Wedding photography is a hard business - you have ONE shot of getting the day captured to last a lifetime.

This is one of my favorite photos - how sweet!

Nothing like the love from a father!

Congratulations Wes and Brandi!

Yeehaw! My Best Friend Got Married Country Style!

Yeehaw! My best friend got married!

Let's start with a quick background: When I was 15/16 this pretty blonde girl named Amanda moved to my hometown. She was the coach's daughter with a big family and a big smile. She also started dating one of my friends which was also the quarterback of the football team. She was on one side of the lunch table and I was on the other. It took us a little while but soon we became the best of friends. We've been friends ever since! Through relationships, college, life and everything else, she's been one of the best friends I've had.

Then she met Peyton: I remember the weekend that Amanda met Peyton. I had been out of town and she went back to our hometown to hangout with friends. We hung out on a Sunday night when she started telling me all about him. At the time we both thought it would be a fling, but soon it showed to be much, much more. This girl was in love. After a year of dating and a year of engagement, the big day was finally here!

Friday night we got together for the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. She wanted an outdoor, country chic wedding that she pulled off beautifully!

As a grade school teacher Amanda has NO problem taking control the crowd to get the job done.

All the lovely bridesmaids ... I would like to think we were a small army.

The Newport girls!

Amanda was probably the easiest bride ever...for a girl who loves to always know what's going on!

She gave us all a color scheme and said to go find a dress that you liked the best.

This way, we could wear the dress again, and find one that looked good on all of us.

Best. Bride. Ever.

We all got to hang out together for the entire day of the wedding and get dressed.

Makeup, hairspray and curling irons were all over the place.

There were also a couple of Sonic runs in there in the middle.

As the girls got ready, the boys set up the big event. Amanda had a view of an outdoor wedding on a summer night and that's exactly what she got. It was absolutely the best!

On our way to the wedding!

While we were standing around for pictures, we did a fun picture of our own.

Three of lovely bridesmaids! Talk about a fun bunch.

It was fun spending the weekend with everyone again.

Ha! As many pictures as Amanda and I have taken together this was the first one all weekend!

I knew she was a busy lady so I patiently waited for my turn!

Most beautiful bride ever!

Amanda's new daughter and nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer.

Cutest. Moment. Ever.

Look at that little boy in the cowboy hat? Couldn't your heart melt! And Amanda found her new daughter a dress that matched hers. Seriously. She thought of every detail.

Amanda and Peyton said I do! They're married kids.

A little bit of the entire event. Look at that dress!

At the reception Jill and I finally took a decent picture. We had been doing a terrible job all weekend.
I love this girl. We had a great time all weekend. We share such a similar sense of humor that she is so fun to hangout with!

I would like to thank whoever made this cupcake.

It was delicious. As was the second one.

What a cute idea for the cakes! Happy Wedding Cake!

I was able to grab Amanda's phone and snap a pic of us at the reception.

Love you, Amanda!

This is the first picture of Amanda's bridals from Meagan Garrison Photography. Can't wait to see the rest!

Love you, Amanda and Peyton! I wish you two the best!

My Best Friend's Wedding

This past weekend was the big wedding of my best friend of 19 years, Kristen. I'll never forget when Kristen and I became friends. It was August of our 1st grade year and we were in the same class with Ms. Curtis. Our favorite colors were pink, we both had stuffed teddy bears, we both loved dogs and Full House was our favorite show.

Over the weekend, I was honored to be her Maid of Honor at her wedding. It's a weekend I'll never forget and memories that will forever be engraved in my heart. The wedding was beautiful, Kristen looked gorgeous, seeing her fiance, now husband Charlie cry made me cry and all of the wedding festivities were too much fun for words.

There wasn't a lot of time for me to sit around and take pictures, so some of these are mine and some of these I have stolen off of Facebook from others.

Becca and I after getting ready...this is before we took 100 pictures.

Lesley and I - you either love us or hate us.

Last minute touch ups!

What a gorgeous, perfect day for a May wedding!

Guys, are you sure??

Guess that's a yes.

Let there be cake!

You can do this guys!

Boys will be boys.

All my single ladies!
(This was the first time I've ever stood behind during the bouquet toss. I did not reach for it, I did not try, I did not want it.  The things you do for friends...)

There are a thousand stories I could tell from this weekend, but all in all, it was a wonderful time. Thank you, Kristen for allowing me to be your maid of honor and best friend for almost 20 years!

Best of luck to you and Charlie!
