Cali'flour Foods Cauliflower Pizza Crust

When you love something, you have to share it with the world for everyone to know. This is absolutely not a sponsored post, this is just my love for something that's easy and delicious. During the day I work as a social media manager for a nonprofit. Nonprofit work is rewarding, and REALLY busy during the holiday season... especially for social media.

After a long day at work, and usually going to the gym after, the last thing I really want to do is cook dinner. Then again, when I am so busy and stressed at work, I know that it's the MOST important time that I take care of myself with good, nutritious food. But don't get me twisted, I can't quit my favorite foods, I just like to make the 'skinny' version of them.

Insert cauliflower pizza crusts. If you have ever tried to make these then you know how LABOR intensive they can be. If you haven't made them yourselves, there's absolutely no point because it's so much easier to buy them frozen and have them SHIPPED TO YOUR door. This is really the holy grail of "cheat" meals.

Thanks to some targeted Facebook ads and my friend Jill, we found these Cali'flour Foods Pizza Crusts to try out. For each package you receive two froze cauliflower crusts.

The two crusts are separated by plastic, and it's best to let them thaw for a bit before trying to spread them apart.

Now, what you will need to do is pre-cook the crusts. *Pro Tip* When you're baking them on parchment paper, flip them halfway through while they are pre-baking. This way both sides are even and toasted when you decide what toppings you want to use.

I am a traditional pizza girl, where I liked a marinara sauce.

Also added some turkey pepperoni with a few jalapeño slices.

Of course, some low-calorie cheese.

Because low-carb works best for my life, I don't mind to add cheese.

You can see how thin the crust is, so you don't want to overload it down TOO much. This is why toasting both sides during the pre-bake is so important.

It only takes about 10 minutes to bake until it's done. All in all, this pizza takes about 25 minutes to make, and most of that is pre-baking the crust and baking the pizza. Because there are two crust in each package, I like to pre-bake both crusts at once, then make a pizza and save the other crust for another meal. This makes it even quicker for the second pizza in the week!

The crust is pretty filling, especially when you pair it with a salad. Or, if you're like me, you'll keep going back for 'just one more bite!'

The crusts can seem pretty pricey, but Cali'flour Foods has a lot of good deals. I bought 5 boxes (two crusts per box) for $50 with free shipping. So, each crust ends up being around $5, which is WAY easier than making it yourself or having to buy a bunch of cauliflower.

What healthy trick do you have to have skinny, cheat meals?

How to Feel Smarter Every Day

Every weekend I tell myself I'm going to get my life together, and every Monday morning I wake up asking myself why didn't I do more to prepare for the week. I'm never going to be the person who puts together their outfits before the week, spending all Sunday working on meal prep is not my thing, and, let's be real, I'm not going to get up early on Monday to go for a run.

What works for me? Well, having clean clothes, making sure I have my Special K Red Berry cereal for breakfast and knowing that everything I need to know will come to me in my email.

My mornings start out something like this...

The alarm goes off, I press snooze once or twice, then I find the remote and turn on Good Morning America (GMA). I stagger out of bed, turn GMA on louder so I can shower and get ready. While I am blow drying my hair, or putting on makeup, I do a few things that help me feel smarter before the work day. Grab a bowl of cereal, grab my iPhone and start reading ...

The Skimm

I read the Skimm every. single. day.  The Skimm is a daily email newsletter that makes it SO easy to feel smarter when it comes to global & U.S. topics. Don't get me wrong, I love a good NY Times article, but this sums up that article so if you're short on time you're not short on knowledge.

Here's a sample of part of the daily email newsletter. It's free to signup - and you can be part of a great community. Signup to the Skimm for free here.

Morning Brew

My second email that I read every morning is the Morning Brew. This daily e-newsletter is really focused on business and is focused for millennials (which is just a buzz word because it's great for everyone).  The Morning Brew breaks down the market, what's happening with the U.S. economy, and gives good overviews of things that are good to know.

Here's a little screenshot about what's including in the Morning Brew e-newsletter. You really can't go wrong for signing up for the Skimm and the Morning Brew. Signup for free here.

Digit

So Digit is a little different than the other two because Digit saves money without you having to think about it. How does it make you feel smarter? Digit sends you a daily text message with how much money is in your checking account and saves you money without you realizing it. AND THIS IS FREE.

Here's out it works. You signup for a Digit account here. Then you enter in your banking information. This is safe, I promise, I did a lot of researching about it before I trusted anyone with that kind of information. Next, they send you a daily text every morning with your updated checking balance.

Now, here's where the savings part comes in... Let's say you spend $40 on eating out on Friday night... Digit might take out $12 the next day and save it in an account. If you get paid on the first of every month, Digit will start to take out a little money before you get paid and save it. It learns your spending habits and starts to save from there. If it's not saving enough for you then you can choose to be a little more aggressive. If it's saving too much, then you can tell it to slow down a little. It's up to you and your spending habits. One friend of mine has saved up enough for a fancy new pair of shoes. I use my Digit savings for travel. Seriously. Try it.

Signup for Digit today.

Also, this weekend I saw Dolly Parton in concer with my mom. It was AMAZING, and I LOVE Dolly. I even bought a $40 t-shirt because I couldn't imagine leaving there without that piece of memorabilla. So, if I don't have time to meal prep for the week, that's OK, because I have a memory that's so much more than a fridge full of cut up veggies.

The Skimm, Morning Brew and Digit are three things I do every morning to feel prepared for the day. What do you do to feel smarter and feel ready for the day/week?

February Favorites || 5 Easy Beauty Products

This month went by SO quickly! Even though it was a Leap Year and February was a day longer I feel like I blinked twice and now it's almost spring. For this month's favorites, I decided to pick my easiest beauty products that help save money, time and make me feel better all around.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color

I LOVE gel nails, but I can't always afford it at $35 a pop (hello, budget). That's why I love using Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry polish in Cinna-snap. This polish lasts a minimum a week for me and is less than $5 for the entire bottle. Who needs expensive gel nails now.

St. Tropez Self Tanner

When it's cold outside, and my skin is, um, pale, there's only one thing to solve my winter blues. A good tan... but a safe one. So I use St. Tropez Self Tanner with the mitt. (YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE MITT TO SAVE YOUR HANDS.)

I love this self-tanner because you can see it as it goes on so you know you don't miss anything, unlike other self-tanners. This one is a little pricier, but it actually gives you a great, natural tan without the orange. (Take this from a really pale white girl.)

Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo

Before being told about Bumble and Bumble dry shampoo I was using so many different types of sprays and it was only making my hair worse. This stuff, Prêt-à-powder is amazing - it's a great dry shampoo and volumizer in one. I actually put it on my hair after I wash and blow dry it to keep the clean hair last longer (and give it a good volume boost).

With using this, I only wash my hair 2-3 times per week. Saving a lot of time in the mornings!

Clarisonic - MIA 2

For about two years I deliberated about buying a Clarisonic and if it would be worth it... Well, I'm happy to say it is. Since using it last October, it helps really clean off all of my makeup at night, clean out pores and I think makes my Philosophy beauty products work even better.

It's also currently on sale at Nordstrom (free shipping!): Clarisonic Mia 2

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Night

You may not sleep with your current nighttime moisturizer, but you will want to with Philosophy's Renewed Hope in a Jar Night

Your skin will wake up soft, dewy, glowy, amazing, and younger. Trust me. Try it.

These are my top 5 easy beauty products for my February Favorites. Have you tried any of these products? What do you think? Tell me in the comments below.

January Favorites | 2016

Happy February 1! Can you believe that we're starting the second month of the year already? January was such a fun month - New Year's Eve, going to see the Arkansas Razorbacks play at the Liberty Bowl, spending a long weekend in New Orleans ... it was a great month.

There were also new products/things I found in January that I want to share in a monthly favorites blog. This month the favorites are a little all over the place - but randomness runs keep within me.

1. SlimFast 100 Calorie Snacks - Drizzled Crisps

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about these SlimFast snacks. Usually anything 100 calories isn't that great, but OMGosh these are so good. The little bites of cinnamon bun swirls are really sweet but not too sweet. It's a great snack to have when you need something sweet while working, or late at night. And you can't over indulge because it's only 100 calories and they are individually packaged. So delicious.

2. Ebates

I am loving using Ebates for my online shopping. Now that Christmas is over, I'm getting a rebate for all of my online shopping that I did. Getting paid to give to others - that's sweet online shopping good karma.

Maegan Clark, www.SouthernBlondie.com

I was having a hard time with breakouts during the holidays. The stress of the holidays, plus it's a stressful time at work, plus traveling, plus family stuff really took it's toll on my skin. I started using the Philosophy Purity Mask on a regular basis and it really helped clear things up.

4. Chelsea Does on Netflix

When it comes to binge watching I believe I deserve the gold medal. The amount of time I can sit in one spot without moving is inspiring and terrifying. When I wasn't feeling so good las weekend from a headache, I laid on the couch and watched ALL four Chelsea Does episodes on Netflix. They were self-indulgent, but fun to see her take on things.

Cooking is one of my favorite things to do. I spend way too much time reading cookbooks and magazines and watching cooking shows. What I've been into lately is watching the Tasty Videos on YouTube/Facebook. They make everything they cook so simple and easy.

Of all the social media platforms out there, SnapChat is one of the most fun. If you're on SnapChat you'll know what I mean, if you're not, you should join. today. right now. this minute. go. join.

7. Chipotle Salads

Yes, yes, yes. Chipotle is making people sick in SOME stores, but the Chipotle in Little Rock has never made me sick. I love their salads so much.

My salad:
Lettuce (+extra)
Peppers
Steak
Mild Salsa
A line of Hot Salsa on Top
Cheese

The perfect Chipotle salad.

These are my top favorite things for January! Hope you have a great start to the beginning of your February!

(I received the SlimFast products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. Reviews and opinions are my own.)

My Dramatic Bedroom Makeover

Before we begin, I feel like I need to say that commitment to life-long things has been hard for me. Also, I have completely obsessive tendencies where I need things to be just right and perfect.

No, this is not a therapy session between my blog and me. It's to help you understand why I had been living in the same non-designed space for the past 5 years. When I graduated college and moved to Atlanta I had all of my college furniture and I was OK with that for the time. When I moved back to Arkansas a few years later I started to upgrade my couch, tv stands, dining table, and small things. The one room that I hadn't touched at all was my bedroom. Besides the king-size bed my mom bought me for Christmas one year, that's the only thing I had really done.

Needless to say ... this is what my bedroom has looked like lately:

So. A blog is meant to be what you want it to be and well... my in always honest of what's going on in my life. This was my bedroom. No headboard, two mix-matched nightstands, and two lamps from college.

A tv stand that most people use for their garage storage. It had a cool look to it when I was 19. Now that I'm 29 I think it's time to mature a bit.

After living in this space for 5 years I've realized it's time to make an investment in myself. (That's the excuse I always say when I know I'm about to spend some money...) Invest in yourself!

My budget was $1,000.
(I had been saving around for about two years and wasn't sure what to do with the money, but knew it was going to be spent on a bedroom set or a Louis Vuitton bag. Maybe later fancy bag.)

My new bedroom sanctuary! It's such a beautiful space (maybe artless) but I'm so happy!

Headboard - $150 from Wayfair
End tables - $300 from 123stores.com
Lamps - $140 from Target

This is the new dresser that has made watching TV much more ascetically pleasing.

Dresser - $400 from Cost Plus Furniture in Little Rock.

Headboard - $150
End tables - $300
Lamps - $140
Dresser - $400
GRAND TOTAL: $990

I did everything under budget with $10 to spare.

To add the cherry to the top, I even made myself a little personal jewelry vanity area!

I feel like I am living in a completely different space that makes me so happy and grateful. I worked hard to save the money (when I could have spent it on a lot of frivolous things), and worked hard to find things that fit within budget.

This was a fun project over the past few weeks that had a lot of hiccups but that's what makes it fun.

Let me know, and I can do more of an detailed post about what I bought. There's still more to be done at some point, but today, I am content.

Favorite Drugstore Hair Products

If you love something enough, I truly believe that you should share it. As I was getting ready over the weekend, I realized, that I had to share these three products that I love the most. Plus, they are hair products and I feel about my hair the way that Elvis felt about peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Weird comparison but I'm also hungry right now.

All of these products you can get on Amazon or drugstores. As a person on a budget, cost effective products are greatly needed.

My hair gets tangled. As a naturally curly, wavy hair that I have, when I get out of the shower it's like craziness on wheels. My friend Jill showed me this hairbrush I fell in love. It's so gentle on your hair you can't believe it. Trust me. Try it.

This is something that I just started using about 6 weeks ago and it has changed my life. Living in Arkansas we have an ENORMOUS amount of humidity that makes your hair go from calm and smooth to Lion King. I use this before I blow dry my hair and the rest of the day I have smooth and soft hair. Agan, try it.

Aussie Aussome Volume Hairspray

I have used this hairspray for about four years. It holds curls like a boss, it holds fly aways like a champ, and it makes me seriously happy. If I am ever out of this I start to panic. It's cost effective, and it works. What's better?

All of these reviews are of my own freewill.

Let #CMAfest 2013 Begin!

In 2010 and 2011, my Atlanta besties, Lauren, Courtney, Melissa and I all went to the Country Music Festival in Nashville, TN. Though we skipped 2012 because Courtney went and had a baby, we packed up our boots and headed to the country music capital for another year of boot-scootin-fun. From Little Rock to Nashville it's an easy 5-hour drive. (It could take you less but I had to stop and there was traffic...)

The first night we go somewhere we like to do it big and fancy for dinner. We went to a restaurant called Kayne Prime that is part of the MStreet Nashville restaurant group. What was the first drinks we ordered when we got there? Well, champagne of course!

I do love champagne. The older I get the more I love it.

Melissa and I love a good bestie picture. We have been friends for six years now... and there's no way she's getting rid of me now!

So, the food was SO good that I totally skipped the picture once it arrived. I had steak, mac & cheese, some kind of corn brulée, delish tuna, and blake kale salad. It was seriously a good meal.

If only I hadn't been such a porker and remembered to take a picture.

I did remember to take a picture of the birthday cake shot. Taste just like birthday cake!

Lauren invited her old boss and we also had an old friend of Lauren, Courtney and Melissa's join us.

Totes fun.
(Totally fun)

Can't celebrate a (late) birthday without some sort of candle!
Thanks, Kayne Prime!

Another group shot outside of the restaurant.
I would go back there any day.

We hurried down the LP Field in Nashville to make sure we saw Luke Bryan.

Lauren and I had to shake it to the birds and shake it to the bees for Luke.

Big crowd. Fuzzy Picture.

No night in Nashville after CMA Fest without a hot dog.
I'm a ketchup, mustard and relish girl.

Time to get ready for night 2...

Friday's Favorite Things

A Friday or two ago I shared a couple of my favorite things that I have or use. So I thought I would do it again. It's fun enough, right?

Wet n' Wild Cherry Frost Lipstick
A couple of weeks ago I needed some lipstick for an event. Seeing how I cannot find my $20 Two Faced Lipstick that I bought for NYE I decided to go the cheaper route. By cheaper I mean cheap. $1. I went to a drug store and spent $1 on Wet n' Wild lipstick in Cherry Frost. I absolutely love it.

I have been reading Shape Magazine for about 9 years. To me it's one of the best women's fitness and lifestyle magazines for any age. Fun exercises  delicious recipes and actual stories to read. This is my favorite magazine to receive in the mail!

To be honest, I'm not that big on coconut water, but I do love Zico. It's great to throw into smoothies, mix with protein powders or after a run. The Zico website has all of the benefits, but trust me, it's worth it to try.

*Note: These are my favorite things, no ads or anything. Just sharing what I like.

Friday's Favorite Things

Happy Friday to all! Going through my makeup back and purse I realized there are some things that I really couldn't live without so when you love something you should share. Oprah may have started this trend... but I'm going to continue it.

Here some of my favorite things today.

L'oreal Magic Skin B.B. Cream

I've blogged about this stuff before... but I wear this EVERYDAY.
Love isn't enough a strong enough word.

Oakley Women's Necessity Polarized Rectangular Sunglasses

I just recently purchased these after having a bad day. Bad days are bad, but great for the economy.
These have become my favorite. Not only are they great for running, but I just like to wear them all the time now. I bought mine on Amazon.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Wash

Purity Made Simple by Philosphy has to be the best face wash out there. It's light, cleans and no strong odors  It's one of my favs. You can get it on the Philosophy website.

Happy Friday!

(p.s. all opinions and decisions are my own - this is stuff I use daily)
