Let #CMAfest 2013 Begin!

In 2010 and 2011, my Atlanta besties, Lauren, Courtney, Melissa and I all went to the Country Music Festival in Nashville, TN. Though we skipped 2012 because Courtney went and had a baby, we packed up our boots and headed to the country music capital for another year of boot-scootin-fun. From Little Rock to Nashville it's an easy 5-hour drive. (It could take you less but I had to stop and there was traffic...)

The first night we go somewhere we like to do it big and fancy for dinner. We went to a restaurant called Kayne Prime that is part of the MStreet Nashville restaurant group. What was the first drinks we ordered when we got there? Well, champagne of course!

I do love champagne. The older I get the more I love it.

Melissa and I love a good bestie picture. We have been friends for six years now... and there's no way she's getting rid of me now!

So, the food was SO good that I totally skipped the picture once it arrived. I had steak, mac & cheese, some kind of corn brulée, delish tuna, and blake kale salad. It was seriously a good meal.

If only I hadn't been such a porker and remembered to take a picture.

I did remember to take a picture of the birthday cake shot. Taste just like birthday cake!

Lauren invited her old boss and we also had an old friend of Lauren, Courtney and Melissa's join us.

Totes fun.
(Totally fun)

Can't celebrate a (late) birthday without some sort of candle!
Thanks, Kayne Prime!

Another group shot outside of the restaurant.
I would go back there any day.

We hurried down the LP Field in Nashville to make sure we saw Luke Bryan.

Lauren and I had to shake it to the birds and shake it to the bees for Luke.

Big crowd. Fuzzy Picture.

No night in Nashville after CMA Fest without a hot dog.
I'm a ketchup, mustard and relish girl.

Time to get ready for night 2...

Gus's Fried Chicken in Little Rock, Arkansas

If you live in the Arkansas/Tennessee/Mississippi region, or you really like fried chicken, then you just might have heard about Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis. Close to downtown and Beale Street, Gus's Fried Chicken is a mixture of spicy and amazing all fried up. Their fixin's (or sides if you're not from the South) include potato salad, greens, cole slaw, baked beans, and french fries. If you're a little hot pepper, like I am, then you will ask for a jalapeño or two on the side. (May cause heart burn, but it's worth it!)

Lucky for us fok in Little Rock, Gus's has opened up a new location right downtown in the River Market District. Today for lunch we went a hop, skip and a jump (I work right down in that area) and we had a little fried chicken.

My "neice" (my best friend's daughter) and I take a quick Instagram pic. I do love some Instagram for everything. If you follow me, then you always know what I'm up to! If you don't, then you should!

Here's a quick snap shot of their menu... Pretty easy.

Fried chicken. More Fried Chicken. And more Fried Chicken.

Somehow this picture got a little sideways.

Usually I get greens and potato salad, but they were out of one and didn't have the other! Blasphemy to my Southern ears! Don't worry, I'll go back to make sure they are a-okay!

If you're in the Memphis or Little Rock area and you like a little fried chicken, take a trip to Gus's. It's totes worth it.

Review: Radiant with AVEENO

So every now and then I get sent something to review. I've been really lucky that so far I've received really great things that I love. Things like the L'Oreal B.B. Cream. (I'm totes out by the way and HAVE to get some more...)
The latest thing that I received was Aveeno's Positively Radiant night cream. I've always liked Aveeno because since I have sensitive skin, it's always been a product that I've organically used. Now that I'm getting older (my birthday is on Wednesday) and that Jennifer Anniston is also a fan, I was excited to get to try this new product. It's awesome.

I put it on at night after I wash my face and the next morning my face feels smooth and it's helped even out my complexion even more. It's totally worth it. I wouldn't say that just because they sent it to me, I say it because I trust the product and I like using a night cream made specially for nighttime use.

Get some. Try it. Let me know how you like it!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Friday's Favorite Things

A Friday or two ago I shared a couple of my favorite things that I have or use. So I thought I would do it again. It's fun enough, right?

Wet n' Wild Cherry Frost Lipstick
A couple of weeks ago I needed some lipstick for an event. Seeing how I cannot find my $20 Two Faced Lipstick that I bought for NYE I decided to go the cheaper route. By cheaper I mean cheap. $1. I went to a drug store and spent $1 on Wet n' Wild lipstick in Cherry Frost. I absolutely love it.

I have been reading Shape Magazine for about 9 years. To me it's one of the best women's fitness and lifestyle magazines for any age. Fun exercises  delicious recipes and actual stories to read. This is my favorite magazine to receive in the mail!

To be honest, I'm not that big on coconut water, but I do love Zico. It's great to throw into smoothies, mix with protein powders or after a run. The Zico website has all of the benefits, but trust me, it's worth it to try.

*Note: These are my favorite things, no ads or anything. Just sharing what I like.
